Overview:

  • Our Property and Asset Management ESG team supported BGO across its WELPUT portfolio, delivering an embedded, building-level ESG programme designed to operationalise sustainability outcomes while aligning with investor expectations and regulatory standards.

Deliverables:

  • Delivery of sustainability action plans for each building
  • Quarterly on-site engagement with building managers to deliver ESG initiatives.
  • Engagement with occupiers through surveys and responding to occupier queries and information requests when required.
  • Quarterly consumption performance reporting, comparing against like-for-like periods and industry standards.
  • GRESB support.
  • Responding to investor requests.

Achievements:

  • Achieved WiredScore at two buildings and maintained at a third.
  • Building optimisation software launched at a prime asset, helping to achieve savings of over 23,000kWh in the first 6 months of implementation, saving £5,700 on energy costs.
  • Over a 12 month-period at a prime asset, carbon emissions were reduced by 30%.
  • The fund maintained its 5-star GRESB rating and achieved its highest score yet in 2025.

  • We delivered a coordinated ESG service encompassing performance reporting, certification management, data quality improvements, and strategic sustainability advice.

Deliverables:

  • Asset-specific Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) covering energy, water, waste, biodiversity, health & wellbeing and sustainable transport.
  • Support green building certification strategy and delivery including BREEAM In-Use and WiredScore to enhance marketability, tenant confidence and long-term asset competitiveness.
  • Work with the Knight Frank property managers and building managers to deliver the recommendations across the building.
  • Provision of data-driven quarterly ESG reports covering energy, water and gas use including analysis of consumption changes to contextualise performance against occupancy and operational trends.

Results:

  • Recommended and oversaw delivery of BREEAM In-Use rating, with ‘Very Good’ certification achieved across all three assets demonstrating a commitment to ongoing sustainability management.
  • Supported the achievement of WiredScore ‘Platinum’ rating for Building 1 and Building 2, and ‘Gold’ rating for Building 3 positioning Eastern Business Park as a regional leader in digital connectivity and resilience.
  • Ongoing improvement works to improve energy efficiency and performance including lighting upgrades to LEDs and window glazing replacement works.
Knight Frank has played a key role in enhancing Eastern Business Park’s sustainability credentials and aligning the estate with our long-term ambitions. Their co-ordinated ESG service has provided valuable data, strategic guidance, and certification support. Through reporting and collaboration with our management team, they have delivered meaningful improvements across energy, connectivity, and occupier wellbeing, positioning EBP as a future-ready business destination.
