Knight Frank launches residential Investment Desk
Global property consultancy Knight Frank has launched an Investment Desk, a new venture that will enhance how the firm supports private investor and portfolio landlords, small residential developers and property entrepreneurs in the UK.
20 January 2026
The newly launched service line will provide a dedicated support hub for domestic and private international investor clients. It will take a detailed and holistic view of clients’ existing investments and provide data-informed advice about how to optimise them for the future - delivering consistent, insight-led support throughout their investment lifecycle and clearer access to investment opportunities.
The Investment Desk will build and manage client relationships, conduct structured portfolio review meetings, and identify then coordinate buying, selling and lettings opportunities across Knight Frank’s service lines. The desk will collaborate closely with the firm’s network of sales, lettings, short lets and international teams, and will deliver targeted investor events to educate clients and showcase new opportunities.
The desk will be led by Keir Waddell, who returns to Knight Frank as Partner, Head of Residential Investment Advisory. Keir previously spent seven years at Knight Frank, becoming head of sales in King’s Cross and latterly the Battersea & Riverside offices. He now re-joins the firm from OB Private, where he was Head of Development & Investment.

Tim Hyatt, Head of Residential at Knight Frank, said: “Despite ongoing economic fluctuations, investor landlords and small developers remain active, motivated by long-term strategy, yield and capital growth potential rather than short-term market sentiment. With increased regulatory complexity, shifting taxation and new opportunities emerging across all market segments, clients are seeking more structured guidance and clearer access to opportunities. This evolving landscape underscores the need for tailored advice and a centralised approach to investment support; as such I am delighted to welcome Keir back to the firm to lead this important new offering. He is a veteran in the world of property having held a number of roles across estate agency, new homes, private clients and investment – this depth of experience makes him perfectly suited for the role.”
Keir Waddell comments, “I’m delighted to be returning to Knight Frank to lead the launch of the Investment Desk. Having spent over seven years with the firm in my earlier career, it’s a business I know well and one whose values, depth of expertise and client focus I strongly believe in. The creation of this service line reflects the increasing importance and sophistication of residential investment and reflects the breadth of opportunity across the UK.
“I’m looking forward to re-connecting with colleagues across the firm in establishing a market-leading advisory platform that supports our clients across the full residential investment cycle.”
Keir will commence his new role on Monday 19th January.
