Cooper is to lead the firm's research agenda for the rapidly evolving seniors housing market in the UK, as the sector enters its new phase of growth.

With nearly a decade of specialist experience in real estate, Cooper joins Knight Frank from seven years at CBRE as a Director within the Healthcare research team, working across elderly care, retirement living, primary care, acute care and day nursery sectors. Prior to this, she spent two and a half years at Christie & Co focusing on healthcare data analysis.

With a strong background in the property sector, Cooper has extensive experience supporting stakeholders on major transactions and significant projects that have shaped the sector. Her work has spanned both transactional and advisory mandates, including market analysis, demand and supply modelling, and the development of large-scale consultancy reports for institutional investors and new market entrants across the UK and Europe.

Cooper is also a regular speaker at Healthcare Business International conferences, where she has presented on healthcare property investment opportunities to industry leaders and investors.

Sophie Cooper, Head of Seniors Housing Research, said: "What excites me most about joining Knight Frank is the opportunity to bring greater transparency of seniors housing to the market. We’ll be focusing on connecting the dots between what's happening on the ground and the data that underpins it - giving investors and operators the intelligence they need to make confident decisions in what is still a relatively young, but rapidly growing sector."

In her new role, Cooper will shape Knight Frank's market position through strategic research outputs, thought leadership and evidence-based consultancy that informs investment, development and operational strategies. A key focus will be monitoring and anticipating market dynamics, policy changes and demographic trends to deliver forward-looking perspectives and strategic recommendations for clients.

Tom Scaife, Head of Seniors Housing at Knight Frank said: "We are delighted to welcome Sophie to the team. She brings a wealth of industry experience and will significantly strengthen our capability to deliver data-driven insights to clients in the senior living space.

"As the sector matures, there is growing demand for strategic research from both established players and new entrants. Sophie's role will be critical in helping us build awareness of the sector's importance and investment potential, not just in the UK but increasingly as it attracts global capital.”

Cooper will report to Matthew Bowen, Global Head of Living Sectors Research.
