James has over 20 years’ experience working with landlord and tenant clients on business rates matters, delivering effective rates mitigation strategies, including specialist expertise in empty rates mitigation and redevelopment projects. He works across a broad range of property classes, primarily in central London, with a particular focus on offices and hotels, while also acting for clients within the industrial, retail and leisure sectors.
James has appeared as an expert witness before both the Valuation Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal and is a member of RICS, IRRV and RSA.
