Living in Yorkshire

Transport Links

York is a very well-connected city. Leeds is only 30 minutes by train or 40 minutes by car. High speed rail links mean that London is only a 2 hour train journey away and Edinburgh is 2.5 hours. Other northern cities like Durham and Newcastle can also be accessed easily by train, as can the breath-taking North Eastern coastline.

The city itself has highly commended bus services. York is popular with cyclists and the network of cycling routes supports this.

Leeds Bradford airport is the closest hub for air travel and that’s around an hour away from York.
