""We are welcoming the beginning of 2017 and are hopeful that the coming months will see an increase in activity compared to 2016. The lettings market last year was quite challenging but once available properties were priced correctly, they were successfully let. The first week of January has seen an increase in relocation agent activity and we have received several requests for searches for oil company employees which is welcome news. There is positive activity at the upper end of the market i.e. for rental properties in excess of £15,000 per calendar month, mainly from applicants choosing to rent for a year or two prior to purchasing. Landlords still need to be realistic about pricing in order to keep void periods to a minimum and we would welcome the opportunity to offer our advice in this regard."
