"December is upon us and with Christmas around the corner, the lettings market would normally be slowing down. However we are still receiving viewing requests from potential tenants looking to move prior to the Christmas festivities or indeed early in the New Year. There is no doubt that activity has been more robust in lower price brackets between £1,000 and £3,500 per calendar month but above this level for larger properties, rising stock levels have very much affected the rental levels achieved. Interestingly the demand for Super Prime rental properties above the level of £15,000 pcm, has increased with applicants wishing to “try before they buy” for a year or two, particularly in light of the increased levels of stamp duty.
