Accessible Lettings
We have partnered with AccessiblePRS to improve access and inclusion in the UK’s private rented sector.
1.8 million households contain at least one person with accessible housing needs, who struggle to find suitable properties to rent, and over 400.000 wheelchair users across the UK are living in unsuitable properties. AccessiblePRS is catalysing access and inclusion in the property sector by increasing the supply of wheelchair accessible housing in the UK and levelling the playing field for older and disabled renters to find suitable properties. The aim is to change the narrative around accessibility so the mainstream property sector understands its relevance and benefits.
What do AccessiblePRS do?
The organisation provides insight and solution-led approaches to landlords, investors, agents, developers and renters to familiarise and normalise accessibility and inclusion, giving real meaning to often-used terms of community, place-making and sustainability.
What is Knight Frank doing to improve access and inclusion in the UK’s private rented sector?
As part of this partnership, you’ll notice that we use standardised key phrases and words related to accessibility on property listings. We’ve also updated how we present floorplans, property listings and photography to ensure clarity for potential tenants.
