Houses and flats in Fulham

Fulham and Parsons Green are highly sought after residential areas just outside the Prime central London region. The majority of houses and flats are primary residences and so there is a very strong sense of community in the area.

Characterised by having the River Thames on 3 sides, the area is dominated by houses of various sizes, the majority being built in the Victorian era, from the grand semi-detached properties near Hurlingham and Bishops Park, the substantial terraced ‘Lion’ houses of Parsons Green, London townhouses around Fulham Broadway and traditional smaller terraced houses in Sands End and Munster Village.

Although one can find houses converted into flats, most of the centrally positioned streets are retained as houses. The Victorians developed the area as a result of the District Line which runs through the middle of Fulham. The houses become progressively smaller, and therefore lower in price, the further from the railway.

As well as the majority Victorian stock, there are several traditional purpose built mansion blocks and an increasing number of new, highly desirable apartment developments, particularly on the River. Many offer fantastic leisure facilities such as 24 hour security, gyms and concierge services.

Living in Fulham

Fulham enjoys a great location, literally on the edge of Kensington and Chelsea and has great transport links to the rest of London.

Hammersmith and Fulham is known as one of the greener inner London Boroughs. It is popular for its significant open spaces. The area enjoys 5 major parks: Bishops Park, Imperial Park, South Park, Hurlingham Park and Eel Brook Common. Two of them, Bishops Park and Imperial Park, are located on the banks of the Thames and so also enjoy waterside walkways. There is access to the River across much of the area with the Thames Path running along the River through much of Fulham.

The area is also well known for several quality Nurseries and Primary schools. As a result it is highly popular with young growing families moving out from prime central London who still want to have a relatively short journey into more central areas and who are looking for a safe family environment.

It is a cosmopolitan area with a very European atmosphere. In part this is because one of the famous French Lycee Primary Schools is located in Fulham. There are many boutique shops bars and restaurants and many of the well-known restaurant chains have branches in the Fulham area.
