St James’s Pavilion sits within a Grade II listed building. It combines contemporary design with traditional architecture and sets a new standard for superior craftsmanship. In fact, the building was designed between 1748 and 1751 by Matthew Brittingham for the Earl of Strafford and is now considered to be among the best surviving buildings of its age and type in London.

Kensington Pavilion features six floors of design-led lounges, pods, private offices and penthouse offices. The Ivy also sits at the front of the building, and Pavilion members have access to priority booking across breakfast, lunch and dinner – all of which can be enjoyed on the large covered terrace which overlooks St Mary Abbots Gardens.

In keeping with its artistic flair, the building is full of bespoke artwork – from Laurence Edwards’s bronze monkeys through to Bruce Munro’s chandelier in the main atrium.

This curated aesthetic truly spans across all spaces. In fact, the most striking thing about City Pavilion is its design; not only does it set the bar for high-spec space, but it has a unique and memorable feel. Its industrial interiors (complete with wooden desks, iron-coloured accents and copper-coloured pendant lights) is coupled with Scandi-meets-bohemian comforts.

For example, baskets of blankets and geometric rugs introduce what can only be described by the danish word Hygge – pronounced ‘hoo-ga’ – which translates to cosiness, charm and contentment. Plus, the space is warmed by pops of colour – like the boardroom’s red chairs and bright posters of Penguin classics, from Nineteen Eighty-Four through to Great Expectations.

Design has been considered in every corner of the building; the stairs leading up to the workspace even feature four life-size, hand-cast bronze sculptures created by Laurence Edwards.

Two are positioned as if they’re walking up the stairs, one is stood with his hands on his hips, and one is sat deep in thought – with his elbow on his knee and his face in his palm. Their expressions of focus mirror that of the members sat in the lounge above – typing and chatting in waves of productivity that are punctuated by reflective breaks, and, of course, great coffee.

The office also invites the outdoor world in, celebrating London’s bustle and allure. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light and calming views, while office plants bring the spaces to life. Plus, for events, mindful breaks and general wow-factor inspiration, City Pavilion’s roof terrace doesn’t disappoint.

With impeccable 360-degree views of London, it’s a must-see feature, bound to impress clients and excite employees. And even during rainy spells, members can enjoy the views from the rooftop bubble-pods.

The Pavilion team are also determined to help their members grow their businesses. On-hand support, flexible office layouts and event help are just a handful of the services they offer.
