Why Knightsbridge is a Great Place to Work and Play

Knightsbridge Area Guide | Knight Frank

Knightsbridge has long been considered a key retail district for London’s wealthiest residents, as well as a destination for shoppers from all over the world — a fact recognised by the London Plan, which designated the area as one of London’s two international retail centres (the other being within the West End).

At its epicentre lies Europe’s biggest department store, Harrods, which is so large it has its own postcode: SW1X 7XL. To the east is the older Harvey Nichols, which opened its flagship store’s doors in 1831. But it’s not just retail behemoths that call this prestigious area home. Plenty of other businesses inhabit the varied office space in Knightsbridge, with many of the large, residential properties converted to commercial use and some of the leading serviced office operators now in the area. That makes the range of office space in Knightsbridge as good as anywhere else in the capital.

Knightsbridge is also well-connected and brings all the benefits of an SW1 postcode. That includes unrivalled shopping, plenty of good bars and restaurants, gyms, green spaces and a world-class arts scene, with the Royal Albert Hall, Royal College of Art, the Science Museum and V&A all nearby. That’s more than enough to make your Knightsbridge office well worth the commute.
