_Knight Frank secures Leeds largest pre-let at 33 Wellington Street

March 27, 2018

Due to complete in December 2018 and with a move in date scheduled for Summer 2019, the move is one of the largest corporate relocations in Leeds for 15 years. It will see all 500 of Walker Morris’ staff under one roof - becoming the biggest single site law firm outside London.

Formerly known as Benson House the property was bought by Knight Frank Investment Management for Lancashire County Council Pension Fund from MEPC in 2010 for £20 million.

The Leeds headquarters of accounting firm PWC for over 20 years, 33 Wellington Street is now being completely renovated to create an inspiring and dynamic workplace with agile working, collaboration, employee wellness and occupier engagement at its core.

At the sharp edge of contemporary office space, the design-led building will feature floor-to-ceiling glass façades, a unique south facing courtyard, three new feature entrances, a rear extension and external feature lighting. Landscaping around the site will see a podium car park transformed into a landscaped deck.

The buildings' significant position on Wellington Street is a natural fit for occupiers wanting to base their businesses in an exciting corporate, creative and entertainment hub that benefits from excellent transport links to and from Leeds.

A key northern location for business, the renovation of a yet another dated office building continues to sate appetite for modern, forward-thinking office space in Leeds city centre.

Sought-after office space includes the totally unique and achingly cool Concordia Works and mixed-use development Wellington Place which offers workers grow-your-own allotments, lunchtime exercise classes, market days and street food.

Commenting on the deal, Eamon Fox, Head of Offices at Knight Frank in Leeds said:

“This is one of the most significant office deals in Leeds during the past 12 months and is unlikely to be matched any time soon. The property is a flagship office building in a superb city centre location and it is fitting it will be now be home to one of Yorkshire’s finest law firms.”
