Is this Leeds' coolest office space? Concordia Works wins major building award

Property
In tandem with growth in the tech sector in Leeds comes an appetite for trendy, inspiring office space with Concordia Works, Sovereign Street, leading the way as one of Leeds' stand out and in demand office buildings.
Satisfying the demand for break-the-mould office space from Leeds' new breed of tech and creative occupiers and testament to Concordia Works' progressive design and unique features, the building has won a major honour in the British Council of Offices (BCO) National Awards held this month.
Launched in 2016, the seriously cool former yarn and cord warehouse was crowned the 'best new office' in the 'up to 1,500 sq metres category', with judges commending the 'vibrant tech-focussed office space" as a forward thinking, adaptable and exciting work hub for dynamic, creative businesses relocating to or based in Yorkshire.

Interesting, progressive and completely unique to Leeds' office market, the historic building has, to date, attracted a range of occupiers including video platform developers Caldero, creative advertising agency Bark and Bite and engineering and sustainability specialists Yonder.
Built in the early 20th Century and neglected after the warehouse fell into disuse, the building was sensitively refurbished and re-imagined by developers Boultbee Brooks in 2016, preserving key features from the building's industrial past and using original 'raw' features to create five storeys of bright, open plan and on trend New York loft style office space with exposed brickwork, trusses and iron columns.
Exposed metal and brickwork create an industrial feel in homage to the building's former incarnation
The result is a breathtaking business hub that is both a talking and focus point within Leeds' vibrant 'work, play' central district where major corporates rub shoulders with creatives, luxury hotels and trend setting restaurants and bars.
The lighting design was also seen as a key factor in the building’s success
Adding to the district's appeal and offering employees and residents a green space to unwind in is a new 'urban garden' adjacent at Sovereign Square, recently unveiled as part of Leeds' city centre regeneration.
