"The end of 2016 has been an interesting lettings market with the buzzwords for tenant’s being value for money.  We have seen a huge increase in applicants searching in the price brackets £1,200 to £4,000 per month and transacted 76% of all our business this year in this price range.  The market between £4,000 and £10,000 per month is a little tougher and it is vital to be priced correctly to find the perfect tenant.  We have also seen an increase in the corporate sector over the last two months and our Residential Corporate Services department has seen a 38% increase in the volume of deals done year on year which is very positive.  The super prime market with rents in excess of £15,000 per month is also positive as would be buyers choose to rent whilst maintaining lifestyle and deliberating over the stamp duty issues at this level.  January is always a busy month in the lettings calendar and we anticipate strong demand from the corporates as they gear up for the new financial year." Ruth Barr, Regional Partner
