London Blue Plaques Timeline
Founded in 1866, The London Blue Plaques Scheme, run by English Heritage, commemorates notable figures in history by marking their achievements with a blue plaque on the buildings in which they lived or worked. To mark the 150th anniversary of the Blue Plaques Scheme, Knight Frank is proud to launch a new and innovative timeline that highlights the evolution of the scheme and with exclusive data from English Heritage, the map showcases the number of blue plaques within 14 London boroughs, the prominent professions for the selected years as well as the notable figures who are celebrated with their dedicated plaque. Westminster, Camden (King's Cross), Kensington and Chelsea lead the way as the top three boroughs for plaques but there are certainly more to be discovered throughout London.
