Houses and flats for sale in Exeter

Exeter City offers a patchwork of areas with a variety of property for sale, including townhouses, flats and apartments all within easy reach of the city centre.

Pennsylvania, a popular residential area, has family homes for sale close to the renowned University. In Princesshay, the main shopping centre, you can find luxury flats and apartments for sale right in the heart of the city.

St Leonards, with its quiet leafy streets, has many Georgian townhouses for sale close to its own parade of independent shops. St Leonards has its own village atmosphere and is within walking distance of the city centre, hospital, many superb state and private schools and Exeter’s historic Quay and the River Exe.

Just outside the city you can find property for sale in the more rural areas of the Exe Valley with its popular commuter villages such as Silverton and Thorverton, and to the east Woodbury and Topsham.

Living in Exeter

The Sunday Times recently highlighted Exeter as a ‘top 10’ hotspot and growing country city, and it’s clear to see why. Exeter offers both city life and fantastic recreational facilities on its doorstep. You can leave work and be on a beach or on top of Dartmoor in 30 minutes. There aren’t many other counties in the UK that can offer such diversity, whilst also allowing commuters to be within London’s principal financial centre in less than two hours by train or plane.

A Cathedral and University town, Exeter has a diversity of architecture and people. The city is positioned on the eastern bank of the River Exe. Along the Exe Estuary are a number of popular towns and villages such as Lympstone and Topsham.

There are two main line railway routes from Exeter to London, the faster route via Taunton and Reading to London Paddington and the slower West of England Main Line via Salisbury and Basingstoke to London Waterloo. Exeter International Airport provides regular flights to UK and international destinations; a particular benefit to the area is the Exeter to London City Airport route, with a flight time of just 70 minutes.
