Bath estate agent, Knight Frank, handles residential property for sale and residential development sites in an area that includes Widcombe and Bathwick.
Widcombe and Bathwick are two of Bath’s most popular areas due to their close proximity to Bath Spa mainline railway station (London Paddington 90 mins), and their beautiful architecture both Victorian and Georgian. They are also situated ideally for access to the city centre.
Widcombe Crescent is one of the most striking crescents architecturally and looms large on Widcombe Hill overlooking Widcombe Parade. Another popular part of Widcombe is Sydney Buildings which leads into Bathwick and is probably the city’s most sought after address with its array of Georgian townhouses of varying sizes which back on to the Kennet & Avon canal. There are several large Georgian and early Victorian villas in Bathwick lining the hill all the way up to the University.
Widcombe and Bathwick are probably the most sought after areas south of the river Avon in Bath. Widcombe is very much a village with an array of shops, bars and restaurants and Bathwick is a fairly concentrated residential area consisting of large Georgian Villas, townhouses and Victorian terraces. Both areas are conveniently situated for access to Bath Spa railway station where the line from Bath to London is currently being electrified. It is thought will significantly reduce the journey time (currently 90 mins) into Paddington. It is also a short and more importantly level walk into the city centre. There are also excellent primary schools in both areas.
