_Your interior design trends guide for autumn/ winter 2022
Feature lighting
As the nights become longer, lighting is an important feature in our homes. This autumn, add opulence to your property and incorporate a striking chandelier. As seen in the luxury London property, Caron Place, our designers were inspired by the existing Murano glass chandelier. Accents of bright colours seen in the grand chandelier are reflected through small accessories, and 2 curved mint green upholstered chairs, perched at the top of the room.
Statement room dividers
A trend the designers have seen more this year is the use of room dividers. Perfect for zoning open-plan living spaces, room dividers can add that cosiness we all need in winter, especially when upholstered in your favourite fabric. As seen in the living room of Knight Frank Interiors luxury show home, The W1 Townhouse, dressed in a beautiful Lelievre Paris fabric, the Penfold Street Screen from Bazaar perfectly completes the room.
A mix of old and new
Whether it’s using bespoke designed furniture, sourcing art pieces or styling pieces such as sculptures; a trend that’s here to stay is mixing antique pieces with new. When staging homes, it is imperative for Knight Frank Interiors to truly understand the characteristics and location of your property and ensuring this is reflected in the final design. Gone are the days when mass-produced carbon-copy furniture pieces were on the wish lists. Instead, a design which reflects the homeowner, whether that be through minimalism or bold and eclectic interiors, are now favoured when creating a home.
Nature inspired colours
We're continuing to be inspired by biophilic design and the natural scenery we see throughout autumn. Include hues of browns, deep berry reds and rusty oranges to your home. Whether it’s one feature wall, a new wall colour throughout the space or a combination of both, the team is on hand to help make the space your own. As part of the interior studio’s additional services, with an extensive range of paint and wallpaper available, your designer will advise on decoration and help you make the perfect choice for your property.
Bringing the outdoors, indoors
Although it's often expected to see greenery in the home strictly in the spring and summer months, adding plants to your living space is also making an appearance this autumn. With the majority of us spending more time at home, bringing inspiration from outdoors to the inside of our homes can allow us to feel more connected to nature. Adding large, fresh and vibrant green plants or trees to the indoor space can assure motivation and creativity are not lost when working from home.
