According to research from Knight Frank's Global Student Property Report, there are 1.9m students studying in the UK, however, with approximately 615,999 operational beds “there remains a structural imbalance between supply and demand.”

Graduates staying put

This imbalance isn’t a problem that’s going way soon either; our survey shows that 41% of final-year students intend to remain in the city in which they study. Graduate retention is highest in London (67%), followed by Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham.
