_Introducing Tim Robinson: Head of Property Asset Management

I’m Tim Robinson, Head of Knight Frank’s Property Asset Management team (PAM). You may not have encountered us yet, but it’s likely you will soon. In just three years, we’ve doubled in size and now have 300 people working out of 12 offices in key cities across the UK.

It’s undeniable that the property management industry has a bit of a poor reputation – but we’re doing everything we can to change that. PAM, and Knight Frank in general, is dedicated to providing clients with a seamless service that always goes the extra step. And with more than two decades of experience and a background in agency, I like to think I have a good understanding of what clients and customers truly want.

The commercial industry is no longer looking at its building occupants as mere tenants. Now, they’re quite rightly seeing them as customers and realising that engaging with them is absolutely crucial. That’s where PAM comes in. We aim to provide all the added extras, such as occupier community schemes that engage local tenants and build a sense of belonging, with activities from Zumba to wine-tasting.

I’m a real believer that building a sense of community around the workplace is fundamental to attracting and retaining talent; a belief that has led to me becoming the Vice Chair of the Baker Street Quarter Partnership, the community initiative centred around the location of Knight Frank’s global headquarters.

Tim Robinson, Head of Property Asset Management at Knight Frank

PAM is so committed to delivering an outstanding service to our clients that we’ve just invested £2 million into new technology and systems, automating the basics so our staff and, more importantly, our clients can spend less time on admin and more time on their customers and their property assets.

One such initiative is Equiem; an established customer engagement tech platform that we’ve recently partnered with. This allows us to track how buildings are being used, providing incredibly useful insight that means the asset can be optimised and its value subsequently enhanced. Data is the future – by understanding how tenants are using buildings, we can evolve to maximise their satisfaction, whether that means the creation of a true building community  or ensuring the right blend of retail and leisure is on offer.

We are diversifying our offering and services dramatically, and are determined to create an outstanding team that goes beyond the traditional offering to include additional enhancements that will make occupiers want to remain in a Knight Frank managed building.

We are really proud of our growing client base; clients include Mayfair Capital, Schroders, Clearbell Capital, The Pollen Estate, The Mercers Company, Invesco, Investec and Mapletree. Could your commercial property be the next addition to our portfolio?
