Knight Frank is lead sponsor for LandAid's 2021 SleepOut

Press Release
We are delighted to announce that this year we will be the lead sponsor for LandAid's SleepOut 2021, an annual charity initiative within the property industry that raises money to help end youth homelessness.
LandAid, the property industry charity, is calling on property professionals across the country to brave one night outside and SleepOut At Home on Thursday 11 March, to prevent young people having to do the same, every night.
Instead of joining hundreds of others like years before, LandAid is asking the property industry to Sleep Out At Home, due to social distancing rules. If you’re lucky enough to have outside space, then head out to your garden, patio or balcony and find some shelter. If not, find the most uncomfortable place you can inside your homes, such as the bath, shower or kitchen floor.
The LandAid SleepOut 2021 is sponsored by us, Knight Frank, with sponsors for each region: Fiera Real Estate in London, Prologis in the Midlands and TFT in the South West and Wales. Each participant will be asked to raise over £150, all fundraising will go toward’s LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness, for specific projects in each region.
On the night of the SleepOut, there will be a livestream for all participants to join with speeches from property professional, our headline and regional sponsors and young homeless people.

This is the third LandAid SleepOut. Last year, the LandAid SleepOut series raised over £310,000 to support local homeless charities in Birmingham, Bristol and London. In 2019, the first-ever LandAid SleepOut series saw 525 professionals from 162 property companies, including Carter Jonas, Paragon and Gerald Eve come together to raise valuable funds to support homeless young people in each city.
Amanda Lim, Partner, Flexible Office Solutions at Knight Frank, took part in the SleepOut last year. She shares her experience: “After building my cardboard sleep tunnel, I hunkered down for the night, dressed in layers and layers of thermals, multiple pairs of socks and gloves, and yet I barely got any sleep because I was cold.
"How privileged we were to be lying there and our only worry at that moment was our discomfort. Homelessness isn’t just about sleeping rough - the mental and physical turmoil that takes effect shouldn’t be something anyone has to go through, especially not young people. We need to do all we can to ensure that they are filled with hope and aspirations for their future.”
Paul Morrish, Chief Executive, LandAid, said: “I am delighted that we are taking the LandAid SleepOut virtual, to give everyone the opportunity to brave one cold night outside to end youth homelessness. The last few months have been difficult for us all, but in particular for young homeless people, who may not even have a roof over their heads to be able to stay at home. Last year’s series provided a truly impactful opportunity to raise money to help vulnerable young people across the UK. This year, I hope many property professionals from across the country will be sleeping out for one night with all of us to help make changes to young people’s lives which will last a lifetime.”
Alistair Elliott, Senior Partner & Group Chairman, Knight Frank, said: ““Knight Frank is delighted to be the headline sponsor for the third time, supporting LandAid’s 2021 Sleepout. I must admit to being a little sceptical initially as to whether it was appropriate to hold the event and support it in the way we are, however of course the realisation swiftly dawned on me that whilst all of us have experienced adversity over the last 12 months the stark reality is for those who have the misfortune of being homeless they have had their circumstances made all the more perilous. A virtual event such as is now planned gives everybody the opportunity to, in a modest way, and for a brief period, experience the discomfort endured by many every single night. I very much hope this will lead to a greater involvement by a broader group of LandAid supporters across the UK and in turn raise an impressive sum.”
