History

Pimlico was once known Ebury or ‘Five Fields’ and owned by the Grosvenor family. In 1825, Lord Grosvenor developed the area as the West End became less fashionable. He commissioned white stucco houses in grid formation, with garden squares behind them. The development of the riverside in Pimlico followed much later in the late 20th century.
