Why Live in East Worcester
Worcester is a city with a rich heritage and an enviable location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and charming towns and villages. The compact city centre has a mix of ancient buildings, modern shops, street cafés and riverside walks guarantee a relaxing and entertaining visit.
To the east of Worcester are the villages of Church Lench, Rous Lench, Atch Lench, Ab Lench and Sheriffs Lench, collectively known as The Lenches and nestling in beautiful wooded farmed hills. Other sought after villages include Abberton, Peopleton, Upton Snodsbury and Bishampton. Evesham is a small town and the Vale of Evesham is renowned for its vegetables, especially asparagus.
History of East Worcester
The River Severn made Worcester an early centre for trade. The Cathedral rises majestically above the river and has been the seat for bishops since the seventh century.
The Battle of Worcester in September 1651 was the last battle of The English Civil War between Oliver Cromwell and Charles ll and the Scots.
Sir Edward Elgar was born in Lower Broadheath, three miles away. He found inspiration for his music from Malvern Hills and the Worcestershire countryside

Getting to East Worcester
Worcester is perfectly placed for access to the Midlands conurbation and other parts of Britain.
Road:
The M5 motorway will take you to Birmingham which is about 20 miles away.
Rail:
The main line stations of Worcester, Malvern, Kidderminster and Colwall serve London Paddington in under three hours.
Airport:
Birmingham International Airport is about 20 miles distant.
