Warwickshire is perhaps best known for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare and is home to the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatres. The county has also produced other literary figures such as George Eliot and Rupert Brooke. In addition there are the counties two famous castle at Warwick and Kenilworth.
History
Central Warwickshire has a rich blend of culture and history. Famous across the world as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford upon Avon is a bustling and picturesque market town with Elizabethan streets, elegant buildings, and a long tradition of theatre and festivals.
The county town of Warwick has a similarly illustrious history. Its castle dates back to Norman times and was given to Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester by Queen Elizabeth I in 1562. Its close neighbour, Leamington Spa, came to prominence in the early nineteenth century due to the reputed healing powers of its waters.
Since 1963, the area has also been home to The Royal Show, the biggest showcase for agriculture in the country.
Property type
The Bridge End and Mill Street areas of Warwick are the most sought-after and are renowned for their beautiful period houses.In Stratford, Welcombe Road and Avenue Road have a similar reputation. Properties range from Victorian terraced cottages and apartment conversions to picturesque thatched cottages and more modern family homes. Recent developments in the Whitnash and Heathcote districts of Leamington Spa have supplied a number of four- and five-bedroom family homes.

From Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Warwick Parkway, London Marylebone can be reached in 96 minutes.
There are also services to London Euston from Rugby and Coventry, which take around an hour.
