Its close neighbour, Leamington Spa, came to prominence in the early nineteenth century due to the reputed healing powers of its waters.

Since 1963, the area has also been home to The Royal Show, the biggest showcase for agriculture in the country.

The Bridge End and Mill Street areas of Warwick are the most sought-after and are renowned for their beautiful period houses. In Stratford, Welcombe Road and Avenue Road have a similar reputation. Properties range from Victorian terraced cottages and apartment conversions to picturesque thatched cottages and more modern family homes. Recent developments in the Whitnash and Heathcote districts of Leamington Spa have supplied a number of four- and five-bedroom family homes.
