London, UK – Knight Frank has established Rutley Corporate Finance (“RCF”), an independent Corporate Finance boutique targeting the mid-cap sector for companies and investors focused on real estate and related sectors.

Rutley Corporate Finance is led by Penelope Bridges, an experienced banker who previously worked at Dresdner Kleinwort and was head of corporate finance at Kaupthing. Penny is supported by a team of banking professionals including Sebastian Monk who has worked at Slaughter & May, Oriel Securities, and Kaupthing, and James Coppin who joins from Bank of America.

RCF has been established to provide corporate finance services with a focus on real estate and related sectors. RCF will have access to, and benefit from, Knight Frank’s global network of more than 165 offices in 37 countries across six continents. RCF will offer the full range of M&A and corporate finance advice for both public and private companies and will complement Rutley Capital Partners, the real estate private equity business of Knight Frank, established in 2005.

Alistair Elliott, head of commercial division, Knight Frank said: “We are absolutely delighted that Penny and the team have decided to join us at an exciting stage in Rutley’s expansion. Rutley Corporate Finance will add a new dimension to our core services and will take advantage of the M&A opportunities which will emerge from the current market instability. Given Penny’s public and private company M&A and capital markets experience together with her secondment to the Takeover Panel, Rutley Corporate Finance is well positioned to provide excellent corporate finance advice. This will provide a natural extension to Knight Frank’s established real estate business for the benefit of our clients.”

Penelope Bridges, head of Rutley corporate finance, said: “As an independent boutique advisory firm, Rutley Corporate Finance aims to offer clients a unique proposition: first rate banking expertise combined with access to Knight Frank’s significant property knowledge around the world. Our culture is based on discretion, integrity and building long term relationships with our clients. As financial market conditions evolve, value enhancing M&A opportunities are emerging and, with the Knight Frank network, we are ideally placed to assist our clients in capitalising on these conditions.”

Penelope Bridges was previously head of corporate finance at Kaupthing. Prior to this, she was a Director in the Corporate Finance & Origination division of Dresdner Kleinwort, where for more than 12 years, she advised clients on various transactions with a particular focus on UK M&A and flotations. She also spent two years on secondment to the Takeover Panel where she represented the regulator in more than 150 takeovers.
