Property For Sale in Quercy

Covering the Lot-et-Garonne, the Tarn and the Tarn-et-Garonne, the Quercy is a fine mix of culture and architecture.

Tucked between its better-known neighbours, the Dordogne and Gascony, the area is certainly one of France's wonderful secrets. With a varied historical cross section of architectural styles (from Romanesque Chateaux through to the classical Quercy style stone houses) and beautiful towns and villages (Monflanquin for example has made it onto the list of "les Plus beaux villages de France").

The landscape differs slightly from the wide valleys of the Dordogne and the sweeping plains of the Gers, having many more wooded hilltops, hiding wonderful chateaux and even the occasional ruin. You certainly obtain more for your money than the Dordogne or Gascony and do not lose out in terms of location either - transport is easy with flights to either Bergerac to the north and Toulouse to the south.

The area has a fine gastronomic heritage as well, famous for products from its Agen prunes, Armagnac, farm bred Quercy Lamb, magret de canard to the cabecou cheese at Rocamadour.
