Birmingham market update
For some of us who have been in the business of selling houses since the heady days of the 80's, today's market presents challenges that none of us have experienced ever before.
The financial recovery back then was some 4 or so years in the making. But the market then had to take action given the severity of interest rates and for many it was a case of sink or swim.
Today however the situation is different. And yet there is a certain predictability. The City market in London can be a fickle thing, but since bankers once more have a smile on their faces, the effects of their confidence is already being felt in the home counties.
So where does that leave the Midlands? To put it simply at the end of the day, it's a personal thing. Regardless of your view point, the old principles still stand the test of time. So here are a few tips.
- Always get the best advice.
- Be realistic.
- If needs must, be patient.
- Be confident in the knowledge that your property is getting the best and widest exposure to the market. The internet is a vital key to that, but it is not the complete answer and whilst accounting for a good percentage of buyers leaves plenty of gaps. So make sure that you are represented through an effective network both regionally and nationally so that they can draw on that unexpected buyer for you.
