Living in Earl's Court

There are some impressive examples of early to mid-Victorian architecture in the Earl's Court. Gardens Squares such as Bramham Gardens, Earl’s Court Square and Courtfield Gardens are beautiful traditional residential squares with many imposing properties fronting onto them and in the case of Courtfield Gardens, traditional cast iron railings around the enclosed gardens have been restored creating a more authentic Victorian ambience. Further west, Kensington Mansions, Nevern Square and Philbeach Gardens are built around impressive formal garden settings. Collingham Road and Harrington Road, also have some unique buildings, many of them very large. A little further north, just south of the Cromwell Road, the tranquil conservation area comprising Childs Place, Kenway Road, Wallgrave Road and Redfield Lane contains fine examples of more modest terraced townhouses painted in pastel shades in a very picturesque setting with some fine floral displays.

Away the hustle and bustle of the Earl’s Court Road with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants are some fabulous garden squares, tree lined streets and one way crescents giving host to a selection of period properties of differing sizes and architecture. Earls Court in general is mainly residential and falls between the boundary of the Cromwell Road (A4) to the north and Old Brompton Road to the south.

The whole area is well served by excellent public transport including Earls Court underground station which is in Zones 1 & 2 and has both District and Piccadilly lines running through it and a superb Bus network.

There are fantastic places to eat and socialise with a diverse mix traditional pubs, gastro pubs, restaurants and bars that should cater for most tastes.
