Welcome to Knight Frank Edinburgh estate agents

Our Country team in the Knight Frank Edinburgh office handles residential property for sale across Scotland, with a great deal of experience in the Scottish Borders (TD) in conjunction with our Lauder office.

Houses and Flats for sale in the Scottish Borders

Our Country team has a strong track record for the sale of houses, farms and estates throughout Scotland, notably properties for sale in the Scottish Borders.

Properties for sale in the Scottish Borders range from pretty cottages to period country houses. Georgian houses, whether they be farmhouses or townhouses, are always in demand. The market for farms and estates is always strong in the Scottish Borders.

With some 32 miles of coastline, many properties can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the sea. Proximity to major centres is always important; for others, the inclusion of land is a must. Houses for sale which are close to the new Borders Railway stations will be in demand.

Living in the Scottish Borders

The Scottish Borders is perfect for those wishing to take advantage of the wealth of recreational opportunities and quality of life it has to offer. It is an area which is renowned for its unspoilt beauty, strong equestrian tradition, productive farms and a rich variety of high quality sporting activities.

There are excellent schools in the area, notably St. Mary’s School in Melrose. The capital city of Edinburgh is easily accessible via road or rail, providing an excellent selection of independent boarding schools. The opening of the new Borders Railway in September 2015 will make the surrounding area very convenient for commuters and tourists alike.

The Borders offers a wide range of outdoor activities: fishing, mountain-biking, golf, rugby, water sports, horse riding and walking. The River Tweed provides some of the finest fishing in the UK and there are many popular golf courses throughout the Borders, notably The Roxburghe and Cardrona. Rugby sevens originated in Melrose in 1883 and the town hosts an international tournament each year.
