Living in GL7
This area is highly desirable for both commuters and families. Kemble and Swindon Station are an easy drive with regular trains for London Paddington for those wishing to commute to London. Education in the area is outstanding with many popular schools within a reasonable drive including the excellent secondary schools in Cirencester, Beaudesert Park Prep School, Westonbirt School, the Cheltenham colleges and Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Rendcomb College. Weekenders can find peace, good local shopping, good pubs and walks and various local events within a short drive.
Many of the larger villages in GL7 such as South Cerney, Bibury, Kemble and Down Ampney offer facilities such as village shops, village primary schools and pubs as well as a Parish Church and village hall and most of the smaller villages offer at least one of these facilities also.
There are many sporting opportunities with rugby at Gloucester, golf at Cirencester, racing at Cheltenham, hunting with the Cotswold and VWH Hunts, polo at nearby Longdole and Cirencester Park and there are numerous exceptional country walks.
The Duntisbourne Valley, just north of Cirencester, comprises a string of picturesque villages situated along this quiet valley starting with Daglingworth, through the four Duntisbourne villages and then on to Winstone.
The lovely Coln Valley is where the meandering River Coln weaves its ways through some of the of the most picturesque villages such as Ablington, Coln St Aldwyns, Hatherop, Coln St Dennis, Winson, Coln Rogers, Barnsley, Calcot, Eastleach, Quenington, Southrop and Bibury which was once described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England".
