Living in Chew Valley
The Chew Valley is a much sought after area of Bath & North East Somerset between Bristol and Bath. Bristol is about 11 miles, Bath about 15 miles and Wells about 10 miles. The area covers miles of stunning and undulating countryside with a number of chocolate box villages and hamlets. Most notably the Chew Valley is known for its lake which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just north of the Mendips Hills. There are four fly fishing lakes in the Chew Valley namely Chew Valley Lake, Blagdon, Litton and the Barrows. The area is well served by excellent shopping facilities, particularly in the sophisticated village of Chew Magna. Leisure pursuits include walking and riding over the Mendip Hills and sailing on Chew Valley Lake.
The Chew Valley is spoilt for good access to private schooling in Bristol, Bath and Wells. Secondary schooling is available at the well-respected Chew Valley School in Chew Stoke and the Blue School in Wells.
Bristol Airport lies to the North West of the area and access to the Motorways M4 and M5 are very accessible. Main line station at Bristol Temple Meads to Paddington is 90 minutes.
