Living in Kingsclere

Kingsclere is a bustling village which has two good convenience stores, a highly regarded butcher and  a great hairdresser with a café opposite to grab a quick cappuccino before you go in. There are four pubs in the village including the Bel and The Dragon. At the centre of the village is Saint Mary's Anglican Church. For those wishing to have a good healthy walk, Watership Down lies to the south of the village.

Schools nearby include Kingsclere Primary and The Clere in Burghclere. To the west of the village is the highly regarded Cheam School, which has had pupils such as the Prince of Wales in the past.

The local regional centres of Basingstoke and Newbury are nearby. Festival Place forms the heart of shopping in Basingstoke with high street stores such as Gap, Apple, Marks and Spencers and Debenhams. Currently under construction is a combined John Lewis and Waitrose store. The Anvil, with its excellent acoustics, is one of the region's leading music venues while Anvil Arts offers an exciting and varied programme of dance, theatre, opera, and comedy. 

Parkway shopping centre in Newbury includes high street stores such as Super dry, Jack Wills and John Lewis. For those who have studied the form of those horses on the gallops in Kingsclere, could then see them in action at nearby Newbury racecourse. Those looking to commute also like the convenience of being approximately 9 miles to the mainline stations at Basingstoke and Newbury.
