Knight Frank’s Retail Ranking assesses the relativities of retail property investment opportunity across 200 UK centres. It differs from other rankings in that it is tailored to the retail property investment community and is largely forward-looking in scope. Our proprietary model is driven by 20 distinct datafeeds, which fall under six broader headings (Catchment, Expenditure, Retail/Leisure Supply, Occupational Market, Investment Market, Competition). Data is collated for each variable on each of the 200 centres. Each centre is then scored relative to all the other centres on every variable. The top 10 centres on each variable allocated 20 points, those ranking 11-20, 19 points and so on (the bottom 10 centres a single point).
We have also applied selected weightings to reflect the relative importance of certain variables, particularly forward-looking forecasts. Each centre is allocated an Overall Score, the cumulative total of the scores it achieves across the 20 variables (with weightings applied).Download the full report
