According to Knight Frank's latest Care Home report Retirement Living Comes of Age, the private retirement market is set to grow by 50% to £44bn by 2022 with the number of private retirement living units growing by almost 30% in the same period.

Twelve million people are expected to be living in retirement properties by 2027, as high end assisted living developments become a popular lifestyle choice - as seen in the US, New Zealand and Australia - for those looking for community and convenience in later life. A big draw for many is the ability to downsize and remain fully independent with the added convenience of on site care at the touch of the button.

Become part of thriving communities enjoying their golden years in style and take a tour of some of the most luxurious retirement villages in the UK where life begins at 65.

Augustus House, Virginia Water, Surrey
